Tárogáto

The tárogáto can be heard in Romanian and Hungarian music. It is a wooden single reed instrument. In the sound, the traditional clarinet unites with the oboe and with the straight soprano saxophone.

The instrument has a particularly warm sound with which – in a beautiful doina or a in plaintive hajnali – the melancholy of the mysterious South-West Tsiganean soul can be evoked.
